How to Qualify for the Million Dollar Breakaway 2026
The Kimes Ranch Million Dollar Breakaway continues to expand in 2026, offering
more opportunities than ever for female breakaway ropers to qualify for the
Semi-Finals and compete for one of the sport’s most prestigious titles.
With new qualifiers, increased advancement spots, and a restructured path to the
Finals, the road to Scottsdale is more accessible and competitive than ever.

2026 Qualifier Schedule
First Chance Qualifier (Completed)
- Date: December 21, 2025
- Location: Scottsdale, Arizona
- Advancement: 20 athletes advanced to the Semi-Finals
Summer Qualifier (New)

VRQ Leaderboard Qualification
- Advancement: Top 20 athletes qualify directly to the Semi-Finals
- Leaderboard Period: April 2 – November 2, 2026
Last Chance Qualifier
- Date: November 23–24, 2026

- Top 10 from each round
- Top 10 from the aggregate
- Total advancing: 40 athletes
- Plus: 5 PWR Challengers
Buy Back Round
- Location: Scottsdale, Arizona
- Timing: Held prior to the Semi-Finals
- Athletes may enter twice for an additional opportunity
- Advancement: 5 additional athletes
- Plus: 1 PWR Challenger
Who Can Compete
The Kimes Ranch Million Dollar Breakaway is an open event for all female
breakaway ropers.
- No membership required
- Open to all ages
Semi-Finals Structure (211 Athletes)
The Semi-Finals field will include:
- 20 qualifiers from the 2025 First Chance Qualifier
- 20 qualifiers from the Summer Qualifier
- 20 qualifiers from the Fall Qualifier
- 60 qualifiers from Oklahoma’s Richest
- 40 qualifiers from the Last Chance Qualifier
- 5 qualifiers from the Buy Back Round
- 20 qualifiers from the Kimes VRQ Leaderboard
- 26 PWR qualifiers (5 from each qualifier and 1 from the Buy Back Round)
Total Semi-Final Competitors: 211
Finals Advancement (20 Athletes)
From the Semi-Finals
17 athletes will advance from the Semi-Finals to the Championship Finals.

Total Finals Field: 20 athletes
Finals Competition Format
The Championship Finals will consist of 10 rounds:
- Rounds 1–3: Thursday
- Rounds 4–6: Friday
- Rounds 7–10: Saturday
Mid-Finals Cut
After Round 6, the field will be cut from 25 athletes to 15 athletes based on
money won and average.
High Money Title (New for 2026)
The High Money Champion will now be determined by cumulative earnings across all
qualifier events and the Finals.
- 2025 First Chance Qualifier earnings will not count toward 2026 High Money standings
- Beginning in 2027, all qualifier events will count toward cumulative High Money calculations
PWR Challenger Incentive
In partnership with Premier Women’s Rodeo, the Challenger Incentive adds even
more opportunity for athletes throughout the season.
- $25,000 in additional incentive money
- Available across qualifiers, Semi-Finals, and Finals
- Includes an exclusive Challenger Showcase
- Athletes must meet Challenger eligibility requirements
- Athletes must enter the PWR Package in the NextGen Rodeo App
