  • The Million $ Breakaway will consist of 10 go rounds.

    • Rounds 1, 2 and 3 will be Thursday night November 27th at 6:30pm.
    • Rounds 4, 5 and 6 will be Friday night November 28th at 6:30pm.
    • Rounds 7, 8, 9 and 10 will be Saturday November 29th at 6:30pm.

    For the last 4 rounds of the final performance, we will cut down from 25 to 15 finalist based on money won and average ranking over the first 6 go rounds.

Kimes Ranch Million $ Breakaway will consist of the top 10 Breakaway Ropers in the World Standings plus 15 Qualifiers to compete at the 10 round finals held November 27th – 30th in Scottsdale, AZ.

The first qualifying rounds were held in Scottsdale, AZ December 1st, 2024. To see who qualified click here 

The second qualifying rounds (total of 3) with no limits will be held in conjunction with Oklahoma’s Richest October 16th-19th, 2025 at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, OK. We will advance the top 20 from each go round and the top 20 from the aggregate for a total of 80 ladies advancing to the Semifinals in Scottsdale, AZ on November 27th.

The third Qualifying opportunity will be a last chance qualifier held in Scottsdale, AZ on November 26th with a limit of 250 entries. We will advance the top 10 in each go round and the top 10 in the aggregate for a total of 40 ladies advancing to the Semi-Finals on November 27th.

In addition, there will be a Buy Back Round advancing an additional 5 qualifiers and 1 WRWC Challenger to the Semi-Finals that will also run on the 26th beginning at 6:00pm with the opportunity to enter twice.

Other ways to win include a Women’s Rodeo World Championship (WRWC) Challenger Incentive providing a tiered opportunity during the qualifying rounds, last chance qualifier, Semi-Finals and an exclusive Challenger Showcase during the first round of the Million $ Breakaway. In total, this Challenger Incentive will add $25,000. An athlete is eligible for the Challenger Incentive if they meet the Challenger requirements and they enter the WRWC Package in the NextGen Rodeo App.

Who Can Compete

The Kimes Ranch Million $ Breakaway is an open, all ages, event for all female Breakaway Ropers with no membership required to enter.

Who Advances

The Kimes Ranch Million $ Breakaway Semi-Finals will consist of 80 qualifiers from the Oklahoma Qualifier, 40 qualifiers from the Last Chance Qualifier, 5 qualifiers from 11th position through 15th in the World Standings, and 5 qualifiers from the Buy Back Round, equaling 130 plus 11 WRWC Challengers for a total of 141 total Semi-Finalists.

From the Semi-Finals, the Top 3 in each of the three Semi-Finals go rounds and the Top 6 from the Semi-Finals aggregate for a total of 15 qualifiers advancing to compete alongside the Top 10 in the World Standings for a total of 25 contestants advancing to the Kimes Ranch Million $ Breakaway. In addition, from the Semi-Finals, the Challengers that entered the WRWC Package will be eligible to advance to an exclusive WRWC Challenger Showcase. The top 2 Challengers in each of the 3 go-rounds and the top 4 Challengers from the aggregate will advance to a WRWC Challenger Showcase to be ran during the first performance of the Kimes Ranch MILLION $ Breakaway on Thursday night November 28th at 7:00 pm.

The Million $ Breakaway will consist of 10 go rounds. Rounds 1, 2 and 3 will be Thursday night November 28th at 7:00pm. Rounds 4, 5 and 6 will be Friday night November 29th at 6:00pm. Rounds 7, 8, 9 and 10 will be Saturday November 30th at 6:00pm. Rules/Requirements

  • Up-to-date Coggins are required in order to compete
  • Entry Fees must be paid in full, and contestant must be in good standing with CN Productions, WCRA, Women’s Rodeo, The American Rodeo and Kimes Ranch before competing.
  • Contestant must wear provided back number while competing or will be disqualified.
  • Contestant must be in full western attire while competing or to be on arena floor.
  • No one on the arena floor except contestants, judges & event personnel. (Must be in Western attire)
  • 10 second penalty for broken barrier or if contestant beats the barrier.
  • Judge has the right to add 10 second penalty if barrier malfunctions in any way and judge feels it is obvious contestant beats or breaks the barrier.
  • Bell Collar catch is mandatory in order to receive a qualified time. Bell Collar catch is determined from where catch loop is when contestants rope breaks from the saddle horn.
    • Bell collar catch defines as No appendages in loop and loop must be above calves knees and eye of rope must be no further back than middle of calves back when rope breaks from saddle horn. Rope must draw up tight on calf and break string from horn to be a legal catch loop.
  • Must use nylon string provided by Million Dollar Breakaway Judges.
  • Roper must have flag tied to the very end of rope. Roper can’t break rope from horn with her hand.
  • 25 second time limit.
  • No rattling of chute gates or box gates. No form of outside help of any kind other than a calf pusher.
  • Instant replay will be in effect for Bell-Collar Catch & Barrier. (MDB Finals Only)
  • 45 second time limit in box. Time starts once barrier is pinned and arena is clear for the contestant.
  • If calf gets out or lays down in chute contestant must run the designated extra.
  • Contestant must supply your own calf pusher. Pusher must be in western attire.
  • Judges call is final.
  • Contestant can’t compete in the WRWC Challenger Showcase and the MDB.
  • If calf ducks back before the score line, falls down before the score line or fails to break the neck rope for any reason contestant will receive an automatic re-run penalty free.
  • If fouled by the neck-rope on calf, contestant will receive a re-run. If contestant breaks the barrier during this situation contestant will have a 10 second penalty on re-run option.
  • Judges have the right to give an automatic disqualification for any misconduct in or out of the arena and for any animal abuse.
  • Cheating of any kind or attempts to cheat will result in an automatic disqualification.
  • Top 15 contestants for the final 4 rounds will be determined from the top 12 money earners and the top 3 from the aggregate standings on 6 head. If the top 3 in the aggregate are already within the top 12 money earners we will continue with top money earners through 15th position
